Dr. Marrix Seymore

 

Dr. Marrix Seymore advocates for self-improvement at any age, in any situation. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Administration Leadership from Prairie View A&M University of Texas. Rev. Seymore also earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership from the Northcentral University of San Diego, California. His published dissertation topic was “The Impact of a Pastor’s Education on the Growth of a CME Church.”

On local, state, and national levels, Dr. Seymore has used vision, organization, and practicality to train and improve the performance of churches, educational agencies, and other non-profit organizations. Dr. Seymore is an experienced organizational development consultant and trainer for organizations worldwide and a kingdom builder with "on the ground" senior pastor experience. In addition to leadership and ministry development work with local ministries, Dr. Seymore has also been the featured facilitator for workshops at regional and national conferences.

As a seasoned educator and public-school administrator, Dr. Seymore has worked in educational organizations and institutions in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, California, Missouri, and Mississippi. His career aim is to improve the environment where teaching and learning occur. His educational aim is to use "lessons learned from the trenches" to develop and support current teachers and administrators.

Dr. Seymore is the immediate past Dean of Education at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri, and the current Dean of Education at Rust College in Holly Springs, Mississippi, In addition, he founded The Academy for Men of Color in Education at Lincoln. This program aims to attract, support, and graduate employable young men within urban school systems. A second program will be launched at Rust this Fall. Currently, Dr. Seymore is an ordained Elder and the Dean of Leadership Development for the 3rd Episcopal District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church. 

As the founder of MoreSey and Associates, a faith-based consulting firm that provides leadership coaching, strategic planning facilitation, and ministry evaluation. Dr. Seymore is also the founder of the MoreSey Foundation, whose goal is to provide educational opportunities to underserved communities through the signature program “I've Got Shoulders,” a campaign designed to highlight the narrative of people of color BY people of color.

Dr. Seymore is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society for educators; the 100 Black Men of America; Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporate; and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

Dr. Seymore is a proud father of two adult sons, Marrix II and Johnston Alexander Seymore, both educators as well. He lives by the mission of being an ambassador of vision: uniquely molded to glorify God, equipped to edify His people, and commanded to empower them to further the Kingdom of God. He executes this mission based on Habakkuk 2:2, “Write the vision and make it plain!”
